On April 27th, under the high patronage and presence of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and the presence of H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, the International Business Women's Group - IBWG celebrated its 30th anniversary with a prestigious Gala dinner at Grand Hyatt Hotel Abu Dhabi - Al Bateen Ballroom.
The event was well attended by foreign countries Ambassadors and representatives, Chairmen and members of various business groups, many dignitaries, including IBWG sponsors and loyal members.
IBWG’s Chairwoman Gulizar Jonian made the opening remarks, welcomed all attendees and invited H.E. Sheikh Nahayan to the podium. H.E. delivered an outstanding and heartwarming speech. He said…
"You certainly have a success story to tell. And your stories are a vital part of the UAE’s story of success. In the United Arab Emirates, we have always been proud of the pioneering women in our society. You are a group of those pioneers. You have demonstrated that the full and unhindered contributions of women are essential to the success and prosperity of our country."
He elaborated...
"When we speak of women as pioneers in our society, our thoughts naturally must include the achievements of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation. Her Highness knows that the world cannot thrive without the leadership and contributions of women.
I congratulate all of you at IBWG for your efforts in helping to achieve Her Highness’s vision for women’s empowerment and advancement in our country.
The term International in the name of your group has important meanings for us in the United Arab Emirates.
As an international group, you may have experienced how living outside one’s own country always provides challenges, for thirty years, your group has demonstrated, in facing those challenges, that our shared beliefs, values, and ideas can bind us closer together, across borders, nationalities, and cultures. You have shown that by thinking and working together in peace and harmony we can move toward mutual trust and acceptance and nurture the values of tolerance, human fraternity, and global understanding.
Your group serves as an important bridge of cooperation, dialogue, and goodwill, and you are to be congratulated for your commitment, hard work, and success.
Thank you for your success in promoting women’s businesses in Abu Dhabi and in enhancing their role in building a durable and sustained Knowledge economy and society."
H.E. concluded his speech with a congratulatory note.

I hope that you will take great pride in your achievements over the past thirty years. I wish you every success in your important work in the next thirty years and beyond."
Ms. Jonian then presented H.E. with a symbolic frame depicting the group's latest initiative to plant 30 Mangrove trees in his honor for the 30th anniversary of the group. This will be an ongoing project, and in support of the Abu Dhabi Mangrove project to plant 100 million trees by 2030.
The evening continued with IBWG’s honorary member, H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, who kindly cut the pearl Anniversary cake, and presented the group's long-time sponsors with IBWG's special 30th anniversary commemorative plaques.
What followed was the stunning fashion show by IBWG's brand ambassador, the Emirati International designer Mona Almansouri. Mona showcased a two-part special collection of Abayas and Haute Couture pieces, that she had put together just for IBWG’s Anniversary celebration.
The raffle draw was a great success, the gifts were many and valuable. The evening concluded on a happy note, as IBWG members and guests hit the dance floor, enjoying the live music and the DJ’s selections.
Everyone received a 30th Pearl anniversary personal gift… what else but pearls, bracelets for the ladies and mesbahas for the gents.
