On November 10, 2025, the IBWG organized a workshop titled “The Perception Gap Trap: What AI Can't Teach You about Influence and Networking,” led by Dr. Oudi Abouchacra.
The session brought together IBWG members to strengthen their leadership presence, expand their influence, and enhance their networking effectiveness. Dr. Oudi, founder of Inspired Results, performance coach, and Amazon best-selling author of Work Your Network, guided the members through practical insights on how they can position themselves as trusted experts. He introduced the four key qualities essential for building credibility and influence, and the ten defining traits of successful networkers.
The workshop was interactive, with members participating in discussions, sharing personal experiences, and reflecting on their own networking approaches. Breakout conversations and real-life scenarios allowed attendees to apply concepts. It helped them identify gaps between how they perceive themselves and how others perceive them, an essential step in closing the “perception gap.”
Members also engaged in peer feedback exercises, exchanged strategies for building authentic professional relationships, and explored ways to leverage both in-person and digital platforms for meaningful connections.
The session fostered a collaborative environment where participants could learn from one another, strengthening the sense of community within IBWG.
By the end of the workshop, attendees left with actionable tools, renewed confidence, and a clearer understanding of how to intentionally shape their professional presence. The event not only enhanced individual skill sets but also reinforced IBWG’s commitment to continuous learning, member engagement, and professional growth.
